Alphonse Ouellet, 65, of Beaumont, died Saturday night at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a brief illness.

Born at Beaumont, he was a son of the late André and Arzélie (Landry) Ouellet. He was a carpenter by trade and a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the RCAF. He was a member of the Memramcook branch, Royal Canadian Legion.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elodie Boudreau; two sons, François of Dover and Léon Ouellet of Belliveau Village; a sister, Rosaline Ouellet of Fox Creek; three brothers, Adrien of Dartmouth, N.S., Alonzo and Alphée Ouellet, both of Lewisville; two grandchildren, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated 7 p.m. Tuesday from the Our Lady of the Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
